Coverage

Every register, to the exact extent it publishes.

Depth varies by jurisdiction because access rules do. This page states, per territory, what your team can ask and precisely why the rest is out of reach — and where a register is silent, your assistant says so mid-answer.

✓ supported · ◐ partial or best-effort · — not supported (your assistant explains why rather than returning nothing)

OwnershipChain is global: GLEIF's LEI graph answers direct and ultimate accounting-consolidation parentage for any entity with an LEI, independent of the jurisdictions above.

US United States

SEC EDGAR + GLEIF

The deepest coverage: resolution across EDGAR and GLEIF, the full filings index, Section 16 insider filings, 13D/13G major holders, as-filed XBRL financials, Form D private raises, and filed-document text.

  • Section 16 and 13D/13G reflect filed disclosures, not a complete current cap table — holders below the reporting thresholds are invisible by design.
  • SEC EDGAR enforces a fair-access rate limit; sustained bursts queue behind it.

GB United Kingdom

Companies House · Companies House API key (free)

The register goes deep: company profiles with previous names, the filing history including an insolvency mode, officers with ECCTA identity-verification status, PSC (persons with significant control) owners, iXBRL accounts, filed-document text and PDFs, registered charges, and person-level appointment and disqualification searches.

  • A missing PSC entry does not prove no controller exists — it proves nothing was filed.
  • TR-1 major-holdings notifications (FCA NSM) are not included in the hosted deployment.
  • Private-raise data is a US (SEC Form D) concept; nothing equivalent is filed at Companies House.

EU European Union (ESEF filers)

filings.xbrl.org

ESEF/UKSEF annual reports (FY2020 onward) and the IFRS financials inside them, for any issuer that files under the European Single Electronic Format. Also the financials path for German and French issuers.

  • This is a filings aggregator, not a company register — only listed issuers that file ESEF appear, and resolution matches the filings.xbrl.org entity name (pass an LEI when the name is ambiguous).
  • No officer, ownership, or document primitives exist at this source; use the national jurisdiction where one is supported.

KR South Korea

DART / OpenDART · OpenDART API key (free)

Corp-code resolution, the DART report index, executive ownership, 5%-rule major holdings, structured financial statements, and document listings with main-document text extraction by receipt number.

  • CompanyDocument serves DART's XML, never PDF — the register itself is XML-native.
  • The corp-code reference archive is large; the very first Korean lookup after a cache expiry is slower than the steady state.

JP Japan

EDINET · EDINET API key (free; resolution works without it)

Issuer resolution (keyless), date-indexed filing search, 大量保有報告書 large-holding (5%) reports, EDINET XBRL financials, and per-filing PDF download with page counts.

  • EDINET's index is organized by filing date, so searches scan day by day — narrow date ranges are dramatically faster than open-ended ones.
  • Japan publishes no insider-dealing feed equivalent to SEC Form 4; insider queries are honestly unsupported.

CN China

cninfo (SSE/SZSE)

A-share (and HKEX-mirrored) issuer identification, the announcement-PDF filing index with latest annual and quarterly modes, headline financials from the 主要会计数据 key-data table, the top-ten shareholder table from the freshest periodic report, board and executive share-change data, and announcement PDFs as text or file.

  • Financials are the latest report only, no history, and extraction is best-effort: an unreadable PDF, one over the 40 MB cap, or a missing key-data table degrades the answer to the PDF link.
  • Ownership is the top-ten shareholder table as published — a point-in-time snapshot, not a live register and not beneficial-ownership tracing. Column order varies by issuer, so only confidently-matched rows are returned.
  • Director coverage is asymmetric by exchange: Shenzhen issuers have a structured share-change feed, while Shanghai issuers fall back to the annual-report board roster — names and positions, no transactions.

IN India

BSE India

Scrip resolution and the corporate-announcement PDF index for BSE-listed companies.

  • api.bseindia.com is anti-bot protected and throttles unattended clients; calls can fail under load.
  • MCA (the companies register) sits behind paid, login-walled access, so officer, ownership, and financial primitives have no open source to draw from.

TW Taiwan

TWSE OpenAPI

Listed-company resolution, material-information filings, director/supervisor shareholdings, >10% ownership, and general-industry financial statements in NT$.

  • Financials cover the latest reported period only; finance and insurance issuers file a different statement format that is not parsed.
  • Historical statement series live in MOPS, which has no open API.

BR Brazil

CVM open data

CVM-registered company identification, the IPE disclosure index, DFP annual financials in BRL, plus the shareholder positions and the board and executive roster filed in the annual FRE — all from CVM's bulk open-data programme.

  • The source is bulk CSV files rather than a query API, so the first Brazilian calls in a session are slower while the reference data loads.
  • Owners and directors come from the annual FRE filing — an as-filed yearly snapshot, not a live cap table or a dealings feed.

DE Germany

BaFin AnteileInfo + DealingsInfo

Issuer resolution, Art. 19 MAR directors' dealings, §§33 ff. WpHG voting-rights (major holdings) notifications, and person-level dealing searches.

  • BaFin's databases are UI-oriented HTML, not APIs — there is no general filings search.
  • For German issuer accounts, query jurisdiction EU: ESEF annual reports cover listed German companies. The Handelsregister/Unternehmensregister charge per document and are not integrated.

FR France

info-financiere.gouv.fr + recherche-entreprises

Listed-issuer resolution and the OAM regulated-information index with direct PDFs; threshold-crossing (franchissement de seuil) ownership notifications with best-effort structured extraction from recent PDFs; officer lookups over DINUM's open company registry; document fetch by OAM record id.

  • Ownership is a notification list, not a cap table: for older or scanned notifications the holder and percentage live only inside the PDF.
  • France publishes no open managers'-transactions feed. recherche-entreprises keys people by name, so homonyms are common.
  • For financials, query jurisdiction EU (ESEF).

HK Hong Kong

HKEXnews

Listed SEHK/GEM issuer resolution, title-searched filings with keyless PDFs, document fetch, a CCASS shareholding snapshot, and headline financials extracted from the latest results announcement.

  • Listed issuers only — private companies live in the paid Companies Registry.
  • The CCASS snapshot shows participant/custodian-level holdings (custodian banks, brokers, HKSCC Nominees), not beneficial owners. The SFO Part XV Disclosure of Interests register — where beneficial ownership and insider dealings actually live — is captcha-walled, so those queries return a link for manual lookup.
  • Financials are the latest results announcement only, best-effort: complex segment-split statements parse partially and degrade to the PDF link.

TH Thailand

DBD juristic-person register

Built and ready in the underlying engine — company identification for listed and private Thai companies, with legal name, juristic type, status, capital, and registered office — but not reachable from this service today.

  • The DBD register answers our servers with a 403 while accepting the same request from an ordinary connection, so Thai questions return an explicit block notice rather than an empty result. We are pursuing access.
  • Even once reachable, the DBD is a company register rather than a disclosure feed — it publishes no filings, officers, shareholders, or financial statements.
  • The Stock Exchange of Thailand is separately bot-walled, so listed-company disclosures are not available either.

NL Netherlands

AFM disclosure registers

Substantial-holdings notifications under the Wft — holder, capital and voting percentages, notification date — and managers' transactions under Art. 19 MAR, for AFM-supervised listed issuers.

  • The AFM publishes whole-register exports with no server-side filtering; the holdings file is around 108 MB, so the first Dutch ownership question of the day takes 20-30 seconds while it downloads. We keep the reduced digest for 24 hours, and later questions return in milliseconds.
  • Listed AFM-supervised issuers only — the KVK company register is a paid product.
  • For Dutch financial statements, ask under the European Union jurisdiction (ESEF).

TR Türkiye

KAP — Public Disclosure Platform

The whole BIST issuer directory — stock code, legal name, province, and independent audit firm — plus retrieval of any KAP disclosure by its id, as metadata, PDF, or extracted text.

  • KAP's rebuilt site moved its data layer to a backend host that does not resolve publicly, so listing a company's disclosures is not possible; a known disclosure id still retrieves fine. Filings are honestly unsupported rather than faked.
  • Listed issuers only — unlisted Turkish companies sit in the paid Ticaret Sicili and MERSIS registries.
  • One company may carry several stock codes; all resolve to the same issuer.

AE United Arab Emirates (Dubai)

Dubai Financial Market

DFM and Nasdaq Dubai listed securities — symbol, English and Arabic name, sector — with per-issuer disclosures filterable by date and by general-meeting or financial-report type, each linking a PDF that can be fetched as text or file.

  • Dubai only, not the whole UAE. Abu Dhabi's ADX, the DIFC public register, and the ADGM registration authority all refuse server requests, so none is reachable.
  • DFM publishes no structured ownership, director, or financials feed — that substance arrives inside disclosure PDFs, so those questions are honestly unsupported.
  • A scanned filing reports that it carries no extractable text rather than guessing at its contents.

AU Australia

ASIC registers (open data)

ASIC's openly licensed company dataset — 4.4 million listed and unlisted Australian companies by ACN, ABN, or name — plus director disqualification checks against ASIC's Banned and Disqualified Persons register.

  • ASX announcement data is not open data: the exchange's terms permit personal, non-commercial use only, so this service leaves those routes switched off and Australian filings are unsupported.
  • Even where a firm holds its own ASX rights, that feed is capped at the five most recent announcements per company — a latest-few view, never a filing history.
  • ASIC's directorship extracts and company documents are paid products, and the personal-property securities register charges per search, so appointments, ownership, and charges are unsupported.
  • Australia has no XBRL regime; dual-listed issuers file a Form 20-F, so ask under the United States for their financials.

ID Indonesia

Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX)

Built and ready in the underlying engine — every listed issuer, their disclosure announcements, and real XBRL financials in rupiah — but not reachable from this service today.

  • IDX sits behind an anti-bot edge that refuses server requests from our network, so Indonesian questions return an explicit "the exchange blocked this request" note rather than an empty result that would read as "nothing on file".
  • Reaching it needs a browser-backed connection we do not operate yet. Tell us if Indonesia matters to your work and we will prioritise it.
  • Director and substantial-shareholder detail sits inside report PDFs and the separate depository channel, so those would stay unsupported even once the exchange is reachable.

MY Malaysia

Bursa Malaysia

Built and ready in the underlying engine — listed issuers, announcements, director-interest changes, and substantial-shareholder notices — but not reachable from this service today.

  • Both Bursa hosts sit behind a challenge whose clearance is tied to a browser session, so a server request receives an interstitial instead of data. Malaysian questions say exactly that rather than returning nothing.
  • Reaching it needs a browser-backed connection we do not operate yet. Tell us if Malaysia matters to your work and we will prioritise it.
  • SSM, the companies commission, is a paid registry, so private-company identification, documents, and charges are unsupported regardless.

PH Philippines

PSE EDGE

PSE-listed issuers — symbol, sector, listing date — with the per-issuer disclosure index, insider shareholding changes (form 13-1), public ownership reports (POR-1) and beneficial-ownership dealings (17-7), headline figures from 17-A annual and 17-Q quarterly reports, and any disclosure retrievable as text or PDF.

  • Carrotly has reviewed and accepted the exchange's terms of use for this deployment; answers carry the source and terms notice, and PSE data must not be redistributed outside your organisation.
  • PSE-listed issuers only — unlisted Philippine companies file with the regulator's login-walled, paid system, which is unreachable.
  • Directors and owners always list the index rows but parse per-document detail for a capped number per call; the rest stay link-only, and many dealings filings carry their substance in a PDF attachment rather than the page body.

SG Singapore

ACRA via data.gov.sg

Company resolution from ACRA's open registry snapshot: UEN, entity status and type, incorporation date, former names, auditors, and SSIC industry codes.

  • The open snapshot deliberately excludes officer names (only a count), shareholders, financials, and charges — ACRA sells those as paid BizFile extracts, per-company.
  • SGX/SGXNet (listed-company disclosures) sits behind Akamai bot protection and authentication.
  • Every intent beyond resolution therefore returns an honest 'unsupported here' answer with a pointer to BizFile, rather than pretending the data is reachable.
